And I was honestly half hoping I wouldn't get it back so I didn't have to continue. That and I have finally realized MY hobbie: dancing.

So I've decided that I should quit NaNo and concentrate on the up and coming jazz and ballet exams. Wish me luck with them!! I'm aiming for Commeneded at minimum for both.

See ya'll!Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-10977958677253814172009-11-04T21:00:00.000-08:002009-11-04T21:06:49.755-08:00First NaNo Update!Well, here's the NaNo goss, I mean this is the dump for it, right?

Day 1: FAILED! Only wrote 978... D: had two tests to finished that day, so hence why.
Day 2: EPICED! Wrote 1749, so I had extra words to share around to yesturday.
Day 3: EPICED! Wrote 1765!! Wrote out side in the lovely, sunnie weather. :)
Day 4: FAILED! 51 That was truely awful. I didn't finish school quick enough and I had ballet.
Day 5: So far I have written 848 words and I only started writting around an hour ago or less. Hopefully I can keep it up even though I have jazz today. And something has SC (spontaneously combusted). Well it didn't really combust, but the computer did over heat and catch on fire. :D

Hope all those who are doing NaNo are doing better then I am. By the way, total word coutn stands at 5386.Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-9523203575383991342009-10-22T22:02:00.000-07:002009-10-22T22:10:55.119-07:003 Years!Yes, this day three years ago (23 of October) I had a moment of genius and created this blog. Since then it has helped me to win NaNo once (and hopefully again this year) during my sparing updates, became a part writing prompt blog and has just all-round been awesome.

I'm inviting every body who read this post to comment just to see how many people actually read this. (Feel free to link to your own blogger blogs in the comments, I need some interesting things to read!)

For the celebration should I:
A) Change the blog skin
B) Give my blog an image banner
C) Give my blog a description for under the banner
D) All three

Comment your opinion!Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-66847189360544104052009-10-20T20:24:00.000-07:002009-10-20T20:41:36.513-07:00And so procrastination starts!Yes, would you believe? It's not even November yet and already I'm getting distracted. I should really have at least the two main character's bios done, but I've remembered about all the fun games I have on my laptop! yay...

Apart from that, things are going well because I really can't wait start. It so helps when you adopt an opening line and you can spend the whole of October thinking about all the fun things you could do with it.

I've adopted a few things excluding plot and title. I still cannot for the life of me come up with a decent title and none of the adoptable ones fit. I came up with a really good one last night, but as luck with have it I don't remember it. :(

Comment if you have an title suggestions please!! No matter how bad you might think they are.

Prompt #2: Fantasy Nature
Descrip: In world building I tended to use a lot of things which already existed on earth, rather then creating my own. For example there would always be grass, rock, tress and water exactly how they appeared on earth. Try and mix nature up a bit. Search through Google images for exciting new plants and then mix them together to create your fantasy tree.Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-60860492375274822802009-10-11T03:33:00.000-07:002009-10-11T03:39:42.987-07:00NaNo is nearly here! And so is my brithdayOur first story is that NaNoWriMo is just around the corner. Well, it's the month before it anyway. I've made the file for my NaNo, now I just have to flesh out the characters abit, and the plot.

At first I was going to write a fantasy, but I had a last minute change of heart. Readin this my story arcives I found a little jem:

After finding a gossip magazine labeled 2009, Amy finds an inscripted message on how to prevent the death of Mr. Pa. Amy finds him living in an amazing mansion with his singal daughter about Amy's age. He is lving off the profits of his best seeling 3 part book series, and his less successful 2 part series. Without knowing the reason he needs to live till 2009 and having never red his triligy. Amy Adam's might have just stepped into a lot more then she bargened for.

Still, I don't why Amy has to save Mr. Pa from being killed, but that will work itself out.

Next story. I braved up and read the opening scenes of last years novel! I REALLY enjoyed it, suprisingly. Though I pretty much only read the section of my NaNo that I wrote during the honeymoon period, but stress sets in and writting turns bad. But really, the first writting I did on it and brilliant, I hope I can match that this year.

And last but not least, it's my birthday tommorrow! I'm turning 15. So comment and say happy birthday. :D

See ya soon.
(I'm crossing my fingers I will update every Saturday/Sunday of NaNo, or at least ocne a week anyway. But no promises.)Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-39034482882083669642009-06-24T19:53:00.000-07:002009-06-24T20:10:36.697-07:00PromptsI made a blog post a while ago (I think it was before NaNo 08) that I was going to start a prompts blog. That never eventuated because I lost interest in my prompting idea.

But I've decide that I will add a prompt to the bottom of every one of my blog posts. Which will hopefully mean I'll start updating weekly or bio-weekly because I HAVE something to update about. It won't be all the same things. It could be words, sentence, phrases, pictures, scene, characters and anything in between.

Email if you do write something from a prompt.

Prompt #1:
http://www.gdargaud.net/Antarctica/Life/SkuaCouple.jpg
Descrip: Two birds, or maybe is a bird monster with two heads and three legs. Maybe two birds are the only things left while a world wide bush fire rages in the distance. Maybe they're ninja birds, hence why they're all black. Or they could be turned into stone by an evil badie.Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-91280377553327362582009-06-22T19:14:00.000-07:002009-06-22T19:30:35.742-07:00NaNoWriMo 2009Well fokes! It's only just half way through the year (though that is more then half way to NaNo) and I've already got more plot ideas then you can poke a stick at. Though I've never understanded that saying because if there is heaps of ideas wouldn't it be easy to poke a stick at them? Anyway...

Teh Altehmet List of Plot Ideas for National Novel Writing Month 2009!

1: Beth and The Exumes! (I promise you, this is NOT the title. I sware... honest! I won't use it, please don't hang me! No noooo--)

2: Feonia/Various sequils unless I randomly decide to re-write a story for NaNo

3: Randomly generated (I'm really tempted just to randomly generate a plot on NaNo eve and give myself a day to flesh it out and then just write!)

4: Adopt a plot (Theres so many good plots I've saved long the way, I really should use some)

5: My fantasy story which I can not remember much about and will also be rewriting if I do decide to do it

Thats all I can think of right now... right now I'm leaning towards Beth and the Exumes of the Feonia one.Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-86605071615909156122009-05-19T22:39:00.000-07:002009-05-19T22:49:05.392-07:00I gave out this link lots...So I now feel the need to post. :D I always get that guilty nagging feeling when I give out the link.

Anyway, to be honest, I haven't been doing much writing these days. My chances of finishing a draft novel before NaNoWriMo are looking down. It all started when I lost interest in the novel I have picked to finish.

Right now I'm into role playing, I have one sit I joined like a month or a bit more ago. And one site that I just joined yesterday. And because of this role playing I've gotten into icon making. It's really fun and much much easier then I thought it would be. I'm still learning how to make nice black and white images and playing around with hues, lighting and saturation. It's hard to master, but like I said, it's fun.

I can't really think of what else to say, so see y'all! :)Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-21322053839647546982009-04-19T18:42:00.000-07:002009-04-19T18:45:08.777-07:00People's Choice YA Book Blog AwardsHead over here: http://heyteenager.blogspot.com/2009/04/hey-teenager-of-year-in-association.html

There you'll learn all about the awards and the differant categories that can be nominated for. I must had said something about it in this blog before, if not check out my NaNo account and you will find out the plot of the story.

I set a goal on the NaNo forum to be finished this story (40-50k words) before NaNo starts again for this year so I must get typing. It's only up to around 8k and I've run out of plot. Well in away I have, the plot has only just started and I don't know where to go with it.

Side note: Last day of hoildays before I go back to school! (Discounting Saturday and Sunday because in the school term you have them off anyway.) Scary frankly, where have all the hoildays gone?Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-54757801911249851732009-01-04T23:34:00.000-08:002009-01-04T23:43:37.883-08:00Generated Story IdeaOkay, okay I sware this is the last blog spot today! :) But I had a lot of writtting news banked up and I ddin't want to make one HUGE post.

Heres the plot: The story is about a scribe, a college professor and a smart sailor. It takes place in a bakery in a large city. The story ends with an inheritance. A powerful magical weapon plays an important role.

---

Clearly there is NO WAY I could end a story with somebody receiving an inheritance, so I'll have to alter this idea a bit. Also rather then a backery, I came up with this story set on a boat.

Anyway, I also generated the bios for the sailer, the collage professor and the main character (and some locations in the story). But I haven't touched the scribe just yet.

I'm in the process of writting all my ideas down into Buzzword so I don't loose them/inspiration for this story. So see ya!

On a side note: I joined Twitter, finally, and I really enjoy it so I doubt you'll want to follow me! ;)Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-21613927541000147332009-01-04T23:27:00.000-08:002009-01-04T23:34:22.413-08:00Tarnie in the LibraryWell, I just randomly started writting the other day (look at the post before this for more details) and came up with a whole new story idea. Here is a snip of it for you readers:

Tarnie found herself where she had found herself at that time, three o'clock, for the last three days, at 27 Ash Groove three streets away from where she wanted to be. Where she truly wanted to be was at her home with her brown and white gerbil in his wired in play aquitment where she could what him for hours and never get bored.

The reason why Tarnie had found herself at that very house for five hours of her day right after school finished was this, her mother was a budding interior designer. And rather then taking sensible hours that didn't make her have to work over dinner she had decided to spend every waking hour at the house which she liked to call 'just the break I needed.' By break clearly not meaning a rest, or as the Collens New English Dictionary put it; 'to stop for a rest.' Which in the 1997 edition was the eighth meaning for the word break.

----

I really think this is some of the best writting I ahve done... in a while at least. It gets worse as I go along, so thats why you don't get to read everything that I have written.Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-33621466241397006052009-01-04T23:23:00.000-08:002009-01-04T23:27:05.975-08:00Plently to update about!I'm going to update a few times to day, first with some words I wrote on Dollie Diner.net:

Writting up date: I've put my NaNo on the shelf, maybe one day I will be brave enough to look back on it and possibly edit it and possibly let people read it (very doubtful) but right now I've started on a new story on Buzzword which is going along swimmingly. I'm yet to lose any ounce of the inspiration for it that I had at the beginning and I'm dying just to get back to it.

It's a differant style of writting to my normal which I am trying to keep up because it is better then my usual.

Also, heres so more writing on DOllie Diner.net about my NaNo result (Sorry to keep any reads in the dark for so long):

Anyway, for those of you who didn't notice (which shows how great a poster I was outside of November) I was away this November, and the better half of October, writing my NaNo which I am super proud to say reached 50k and I also ended my story, though I did stay up till 11:40 or something. So everything worked out really.Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-77728294581420254852008-11-11T17:45:00.000-08:002008-11-11T17:55:08.681-08:00Update from the last week:So heres my comments on the days work:

Day 01: 2062 words! Total words: 6049.

Day 07: I've been righting really dadly, only getting into the hundreds! Pretty good 'eh?

~-~-~-~-

Finally, around a month before NaNo my plot is picked! I've desided on the 3rd one because it just seems so NaNoish and fun to write. I've got my word file all ready and I've started scratching down ideas and writing up a ruff outline! Things are chuffing along quite nicely.

~-~-~-~-

And last but not least my very own writing propt blog. Its not mad yet, but when it is I will add a post to this blog saying so and giving you a link. I know theres a lot of writing promt blogs out there, but mine will work like this. You are givien an object in your story and a list of questions and you must answer them by drawing a sketch. Doesn't have to be a good drawing, and more importantly you won't have to show anybody, but the fact is you have a perfect description of an important/unimportant/now to be come an imporant object which should help you with your story/writers block.

Heres a sample:

A lamp shade! Don't forget to choose this answers by what the owner would have/like
What colour.:
What is the pattern.:
Where is it in the room.:
Is it well taken care of.:

Theres not always the same questions for them. And it can be any kind of item. Also this new blog will have a muse jump start word war where I set you a challenge or time and worlds.Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-48307690330640674632008-07-07T18:54:00.000-07:002008-07-07T19:16:46.386-07:00So I havn't yetYes, read down and you'll see I was planing to orangize my ideas, but that never happened because I never worked out how I should do it.

So right now, I'm doing research for plot 2. Heres the only web sites I've found:
http://www.qualityinfo.org/olmisj/ArticleReader?itemid=00005844 I wanted some information about tools that would have been used, because thats my biggest prob right now because they didn't teach me about tools in my subject. But I can't find any sites with that kind of stuff on it. I guess I'll just have to ask on the NaNo forums and see if they can help me.Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-51616501709810307752008-07-06T20:01:00.000-07:002008-07-06T20:15:07.694-07:00Getting organized!Okay, you wanna here the long story or the short one? If you wanna here the long one read on, it's you don't then find some blond text and read on from there.

So basicly (okay not basicly) I found a pixel doll site link and had a look at it, it have a link to an old forum and used to go on that I desided to take another look at. I found a contest on there that was closed so I went to vote and found a doll that said it's base was from some where I don't remember having that base. So I had a look at that site and found the base, ate the egg from my humbile pie while finding the link to Gaia. (Just some popular in the pixel world socilizing site) So I joined up to Gaia and had to go to my email to activate my account, so I logged into my email and found a NaNo email, so I had a look at it and then went to the NaNo site, found out they had an after NaNo forum which I posted on a bit and then got inspired to finally deside which plot I should do for NaNo. So I am going to get organized!

Okay, I've finished the long story, heres the short one:
Found out they had an after NaNo forum which I posted on a bit and then got inspired to finally deside which plot I should do for NaNo. So I am going to get organized!

There, so what I am going to do I write down stuff on index cards and lay they all out will mum is out and see if that helps anything. I'll keep you posted team!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In other news, I 'signed up' to Scrip Frenzy (used my NaNo account) and relearnt how to write a scrip. I'm a bit late to do that now though. By like two months. In the imortal words of Max Well Smart, "Missed it by that much."

See ya later.Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-77204265719777722272008-06-25T19:43:00.000-07:002008-06-26T04:06:41.116-07:00Yay! I have a plot! I mean plots >_>Okay, so finally I have something to post here. Although I came up with my first plot idea a while back, but never got around to posting it. Now the plot bunnies have attacked both while I was doing school and while I was on the computer and I have three plots now. >_< So please, if their is anyone reading, comment and tell me what plot you like the best and help be decide!!

Plot 1: (Sci-fi) Main character's Dad's and car mechanic that never gets any cars it fix, but some how still gets paid every month.
One day MC decides to investigate where the money comes from. She look in an old car that has been sitting in their garage for ages and finds a small black box. That black box takes her to alternate universe where she sees her dad couching an all girls sports team (a spot she has never seen before). But she also sees him get fired!!
MC puts it upon herself to get her Dads job back.
Notes: I've developed this plot a lot, I've made up the sport and given it some room and worked out how it's played, worked out team positions ect. but I don't really care that much the other plots are awesome too!

Plot 2: (Historic) Set in around 1300 A.D. It follows the story of an apprentice carpenter's path to becoming and journey man.
In if his master will steal his work. He'll help and hiding serf escape is lord/master. And still have time to try and get to become a journeyman.
Notes: The down side to this is that research will be a common word with me for the time I'll writing this, how ever I am learning about this stuff in my world history subject. The plot bunnies came when I was doing that subject in fact.

Plot 3: (Comedy) The SPQR or Society of Purposeful Quoters and Ragamuffins is under review by the Society of Society.
Underline ragamuffins and you get quite an interesting story of secrets and plots to undermine SPQR.
Notes: This one seems like the most fun to write and the most like a NaNoWriMo. All of the things outside became a blur and slowly they were not able to be seen. As Casey looked down she couldn’t see of feel the floor for a minute or two then she saw lovely long green grass like the grass in the forest where she first landed. And slowly the dust stopped whizzing around and Casey could see where she had landed.
She could tell that they hadn’t gone very far by the fact that there was still lots of pine tree looking trees around the dirt road that look just like the one that was where the wizard came to pick them.
The place where she assumed that they would be holding the meeting was a square log house. It didn’t seem like it would fit more then twenty people inside of it and it also didn’t look very comfortable.
At the entrance some female dwarfs stood with baskets of different goods like breads, fruits, cakes or potatoes they where all looking to get an extra dollar from the people that were gathering for the meeting.
There were all sorts of different people there like centaurs, pixies, unicorns, elves, llamas and may others that Casey had never even heard or seen before.

I've posted up this because it shows two of the seven dares I have chosen for this year. Having potatoes and Llamas in every chapter. You'll see some more dares in later updates. Catch you later with more updates of my NaNo!!Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-60959052948234736102007-11-01T21:20:00.000-07:002007-11-01T21:25:10.748-07:00See you on teh 1st of November?Ok, so one day late. Not too too bad, right? Anywho I have some good news:

The first day of NaNo I only got around 600 word done then my laptop needed to be charged and I wanted to watch and TV show so I could write while it charged then on the second day of NaNo (today) I got up to date and did 500 words before lunch. (And doing pretty much the whole day of school!) So I'm very happy with myself, but I need to do 1100 more to get up too me daily total needed to finish (1600). :-)Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-40759596744566049572007-10-28T18:41:00.000-07:002007-10-28T18:49:09.901-07:00Two days to go and I have a plot!O hai! I have got a plot for my NaNo. I new I wanted to write a fantasy after I had pulled it out of a lucky draw I made for myself, but now I have a plot.

So a group of people have to find these amulets. Theres a earth, wind, fire and water amulets and they all have to be gotten from differant places...

I haven't quite worked out why or what the amulets are either. I don't want them to control the things there named after. (e.i. the fire amulet controlls fire) so thats out of the question, but I think I can get away with just saying that only the highest of the highest wizards now what they are for! But then why do they need them? Argh, I hate plot holes!!

Anywho, I'll catch you on Nov. the 1st maybe I make have solved the plot hole by then... but I wouldn't get your hopes up for me.Madelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1008655792289760271.post-58584484969617569032007-10-23T22:32:00.000-07:002007-10-23T22:38:55.799-07:00Let me explain!I really needed a place to let of steam during NaNoWriMo ( www.nanowrimo.org ) so I decided to make a blog for me to post in everyday (or try to post in everyday) during NaNo. So here it is!
This probably won't do much good to your reading this except if your doing NaNo, then it may inspire you to keep on writing with any good news that a post on here or it could make you sad with any bad news I post up here and you don't feel writing.
Either way I hope somebody stays around and reads of more then one postMadelinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10125084054896577518noreply@blogger.com0
